Field Sales Reps

POSITION DESCRIPTION: SPORT JOURNALS FIELD SALES REPRESENTATIVE 
Sport Journals is a fast-growing company that is building the local CrossFit Affiliate’s, teams’, and schools’ athletic communities by uniting athletes in tracking their workouts together, aiding coaches in on-boarding new members by educating, and qualifying them, and showing all levels of athletes their progress on paper by creating a history for them to review. We are currently looking for highly-motivated, charismatic, authentic individuals to join our team in the role of Field Sales Representative. The Field Sales Representative is responsible for growing Sport Journals sales to CrossFit gyms and other fitness-oriented wholesale customers throughout their region, as well as increasing brand exposure among potential retail customers. 

This is a part-time, commission-based position. Although not a requirement, this sales position is uniquely suited for a part-time CrossFit coach looking to earn supplemental income. To be eligible for the Field Sales Representative you must have a flexible weekly schedule and enjoy being out and about.

 

Job Responsibilities: 

Research and identify prospective Sport Journals Affiliates in your Region 

Contact decision makers at prospective Affiliates via phone, email and personal visits to educate these individuals and their teams about Sport Journals’ products 

Schedule and attend information sessions and sampling events to introduce Sport Journals’ products to gym owners, coaches and members 

Follow through with all leads by providing pricing information and sales collateral to close accounts and confirm new sales 

Diligently log all communications with current and potential customers in a tracking system 

Work with our Oregon-based Inside Sales Team to ensure that all sales orders are processed quickly and accurately 

Identify and attend CrossFit Competitions and local events at gyms and retail sites to increase Sport Journals’ brand exposure 

Maintain systematic contact with assigned accounts to cultivate long-term relationships, promote reorders, and gather customer feedback 

Be a social media activist for the brand 

Share observations on the marketplace and work directly with Sport Journals sales team to identify new and effective sales approaches and promotional opportunities 

Desired Skills/Qualifications 

Bachelor’s degree 

Demonstrated passion for and commitment to fitness and nutrition 

Personal involvement with the culture and philosophy of CrossFit 

Reliable transportation

Ability to work evenings/weekends if necessary

Good time management and travel organization skills 

Excellent verbal communication skills, a knack for engaging others in conversation 

Compensation 

This position is commission-based (no base salary) 

Field Sales Representatives receive commission for both new accounts and re-orders from existing affiliates they bring into the Sport Journals’ Affiliate Program 

Paid travel expenses (gas mileage reimbursement, office supplies)
